Australia heading to the Circle of Champions
The web development world has had to deal with Internet Explorer 6 aka IE6 for over 10years now and it has been the bane of our coding existence. Its lack of support for the box model, constant use of CSS hacks and conditional elements. The community has had enough, even Microsoft itself has dropped support infact IE6 died 1 March 2010. http://ie6funeral.com/
With the death of IE6 2.0% of internet users in Australia are still using IE6, but this is too much! We need to get IE6 usage down to below 1% to become part of the coveted Circle of Champions (http://www.ie6countdown.com/champions.aspx) We will join the ranks of Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.
If Australia is to join the ranks, how will we celebrate? what can we do? what pictures will best sum up the happiness the web development community feels at our achievements?
Hmm time to put on the propeller/thinking hats….
